OK, now which springs?

Post by lucenut »

OK, now I'd like to order some springs for the new P64. I would like to get the AD pull a little lighter. I shoot some of the silver bear, and reloads I do with 95Gr Hornady XTPs, 95Gr Speer HP, and 95Gr lead.

I see Norm makes trigger springs, but haven't read how to buy them. I think I'd like the whole set of recoil springs to change with different loads. As for hammer springs I'd like whatever makes the best DA pull.

As for light primer strikes has anyone ground the base where the firing pin portrudes to make it strike a little deeper? I've heard of that in other weapons.

Hi Norm, I saw on youtube that one should change out the recoil springs if they are shooting 95 grain ammo. What's your take on it? I know folks have different opinions, but you seem to be a fixture here, just wanted your take on it. Thanks.

Thats great news Norm. I know youtube and even the forums are full of "opinions" that tend to vary..lol... I think shooting it stock will be fine, if not then I will change something. Thanks for the help. My friend is picking up some Monarch ammo right now from Academysports. I am not sure if it's 95 or not. Another member here says he shoots it a lot. I am gettin anxious to have the gun in my hand. It may be weeks before it gets to me. My friend ordered it then I have to rise to Amarillo or meet him half way so he can deliver it to me. No FFL dealers closeby to me. I live in Rural New Mexico, in the sticks..lol Thanks again for the help. I am sure I will ask more questions. ???:o(
