Trigger spring replacement
After changing the recoil spring and the trigger spring, I decided I'd better go to the range and see if this P-64 of mine would shoot. Well, I figured I would give it the acid test so I put 50 rounds of Wolf 95 gr. FMJ through with no failures to feed, but did have two failures to fire which did fi...

Trigger spring replacement
Several weeks ago, I ordered the 22# recoil spring and the 17# trigger spring from Wolff. As soon as I got the springs, I installed the recoil spring and that went pretty well after I flatten the new spring ends. I was a little intimidated by the trigger spring job so I procrastinated until tonight....

New guy question on spring changes
I just installed a 22# recoil spring but haven't changed out the mainspring. I'm going to shoot it first and see how it feels. I had trouble getting the slide back on after I put the new recoil spring in so I did what Manicmechanic did and flattened the ends of the spring just a bit and that did the...

Help with installing new firing pin spring...
I could not get my slide back on when I tried to install the #22 recoil spring. I had to take the dremel tool and flatten both ends of the spring and then it slipped right in just fine. Thanks for the tip, Manicmechanic. I just took it slow and easy and it worked.

New guy question on spring changes
Thanks. I from what I read, others used a Wolff #16 PPK spring, but the #17 Wolff would be a better choice for me- no modification. That's the first I've read about pierced primers, most posts only mention misfires due to hard primers. I'd appreciate your thoughts on using a heavier recoil spring to...

New guy question on spring changes
I have read just about everything on the forum concerning spring changes since I bought my 1975 P-64 three days ago. When I picked up the gun the first time, I experienced double-action trigger shock and would have put it down immediately if I hadn't felt the smooth single action trigger. The more I...

Holster size help for a new guy- first post
First off let me say that I have learned a ton about the P-64 and I only bought mine last Saturday. This is by far one of the most comprehensive and informative forums I have ever been a part of and the people here are great when it comes to sharing expertise and advice- so thanks to all. Now that I...
