I've had the standard issues with the P-64 and will solve with a 20lb hammer spring and 22lb recoil spring. Regarding the RECOIL spring....the tight end (the smaller end) goes on the barrel first...correct?
I understand from other threads I may need to grind to get the recoil spring to fit.
Thanks!

2 problems!!!! Help!!!
Thanks again for everyone's help. I have 18 and 19 lb springs on hand so I believe I will install the 18 pounder in the 1971 model and the 19 lb spring in the 1976 model. I was not having problems with the 1971 model but the 16 lb spring I originally installed was too light for me!!!!!!

2 problems!!!! Help!!!
I bought a couple P-64s and shot them both for the first time this last weekend. The 1971 model shot fine...no problems. The 1976 model however had a couple recurring issues. re-blue my P-64
The finish on my 1971 P-64 is smooth with no rust, but really dull and looks thin. What is a do-it-yourself process I can try to dress my P-64 up a bit and that will give me a good result?

New P-64 owner question
My very first post here. Whew! I put a new mainspring on my newly purchased P-64 this morning. I initially had some difficulties but put the mustard to it and got the job done but not without a foul word or two :-X!!! Anyway....here's the question.
