Re: I'm ready to hang it up - does someone want to take over?

I personally have found this forum to be absolutely invaluable as an owner from way back in the early days when I bought my first pair of P64s in 2005 from AIM for $129.95 and found this forum. I joined here right away in those first days, and made a couple of posts back then. Unfortunately I went t...

Re: Numrich Magazine Observations

I took a good look at the problem mag and found the bottom of the spring was shaped poorly and would not lock into position as it should. I had a few extra Wolff replacement magazine springs on hand and instantly replaced the cruddy spring on my aftermarket magazine when I took it apart soon after ...

It tends to get the bumps in the front and back like others have mentioned. The lips feel a little more squishy but have not been an issu...

Re: P64 Trigger Guard Plunger Wear

Hmmm. So you are saying that you replaced the plunger and the peening continued on the new one again fairly soon? How many rounds did it take? I have not had the opportunity to shoot very much lately so I do not have enough rounds on my own repaired/reshaped trigger guard plunger to show much of any...

Re: P64 Trigger guard Plunger Wear

That is very interesting. For the pin to come out the holes in the frame and the hole in the trigger guard need to line up exactly. There needs to be either something out of spec on the pin because of wear/gunk to not allow the center trigger guard section to index properly and drop into the center ...

Re: Official Polish Military P-64 Field Manual rev. 1985

I would. I practice one hand shooting all the time. You can't be sure that you'll have 2 hands available all the time. My first shooting instructor (more than 45 years ago now) insisted on practicing shooting with one hand at least half the time, because he said "they're called 'HAND guns', no...

Re: P64 Trigger Guard Plunger Wear

The Trigger Guard Plunger and Spring does not press directly on the Trigger Guard Pin. It presses on the trigger guard itself just behind the pin, which in turn is displaced downwards into the center recess area of the middle of the trigger guard pin, locking it into place because it is barbell shap...

Re: Slide compatibility from pistol to pistol

I remember now that I had a slide once that was dropped and it caused the rear corner at the rail to be a little tiny bit tight. It didn't take much to get it back into spec. I took some 240-grit sandpaper and wrapped it around a popsicle stick and gently worked the obvious (under magnification) bum...

Re: Slide compatibility from pistol to pistol

I have swapped slides around quite a bit on two different guns and 5 different slides experimentally (both newer and older versions) and have only had a few slight issues. Sometimes they can be a little tight like you mentioned and go into battery a little hard if you ride the slide forward instead ...

Weird proof mark on trigger

IMG_20260207_113157403_50.jpg Prepping one of my triggers to send out to have Titanium Nitride coating applied and noticed this mark. Unlike nearly every other stamping other than the serial numbers, date, caliber 9mm, and circle 11 this one is clear and very high definition. None of the other P64 ...

Re: Makarov Drum Magazine

I don't see why this would not work using a P64 magazine instead.

Now all of a sudden I really want to get my hands on a PPSh drum magazine...in Minecraft.

Why did the Polish mess up the trigger guard plunger design from the original PPK version?

Nobody else seems to want to post here so I guess I'll try to take up the slack and post a wall of text in case anyone is bored. I have read most of the old threads and watched the many videos as well as done a bunch of gunplumbing on these P64's to become pretty familiar with them. Here goes... The...

Re: Different length firing pins?

True, but I've done quite a few parts swaps on my P64's without much trouble -slides, hammers, triggers, mainspring/hammer guide rods, springs aplenty and a bunch of other stuff. I do always carefully check the fit and function every time and the only time I've ever noticed any problem was the secon...

Different length firing pins?

I have been cleaning up some parts to send out to be titanium nitrided and when I came to a couple of firing pins I realized they weren't the same. One was 1.5mm shorter at the back area but still the exact same length from the spring collar to the tip. I initially chalked this up to wear/battering ...

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO

Thanks guys. I posted more about the grips in a grips thread elsewhere here. That's where I got the idea from a member called J.D. his turned out so well I figured I had to try it too. Since Polish Iron grips are no longer in business I wanted to try something to tame the recoil some. I was using a ...
