Sunday I went to the range. I was going to shoot my turkey targets but I can't do it if anyone else is there. The shortest range is 25 yds and to get the 10 yd distance I measure it off and walk up closer. I cannot do that if others are using the range. I will try again this weekend. The weather was nice and there were many shooters there. I took a friend with me that bought his first gun , a P-64. He had'nt shot a gun in over 20 years and he was hitting a sillouette target consistantly at 25 yds. The recoil was not an issue for him and he liked the pistol. He got an unused 74 triangle hammer for $165.00 at a gun show.

Wow, great find!!! The p-64 in the right hands if a very accurate weapon. I shoot extremely well except the target just won't stop shaking!!!

Never having shot in a postal match before, I want to be sure of the rules.

I assume that we can shoot as many targets as we want for practice befor we shoot for score, then when we're done practicing, we shoot 3 for score, right? Then, we submit the best of the three.

I guess my question is: We don't shoot a million targets, then pick the best three out of the million for score, right?

I think wwe are getting set up :o

Of course you can practice all you want. This is done on the honor system...all we ask is that you don't use any rest device and shoot off hand.

Good luck... :)

I wish! :D

I'll just be trying not to embarrass myself too badly. I saw that thread on the 1" group at 50 feet! I daydream about that, but I don't lie to myself.

So these are intended to be shot off-handed? :-X That's the first I've heard of this, the original rules thread doesn't mention that...

Ah, I see... :7

Off-handed... Come to think of it, I haven't put any rang time on my P-64 with my off hand yet, guess that wouldn't be such a bad idea. Just not for this shoot though, I need every little bit of help I can get.

OH NO!!! :( You have got to be kidding me! I saw Norm's pic of his Turkey target and it said 7 yards on it. I got that in my head and when I set it up, I set it up at 7 yards. :'( The rules say 10 yards. ??? Can I get another chance, or am I out? :D My first target had about a 1" group, but it was a "draft" copy and the lines did not print, so I used the one with the circles noticeable for my final target. It was fun, I took out my cousin with me who is heading back to Iraq in Feb., as well as some others from my family. He was glad to go out and shoot guns with me, even though our fingers were frozen when we were done. :D

gotmak,

sense you haven't posted your entry, you can go shoot another target at ten yards and then enter the new one. besides, its another reason to go to the range :)
