I just stumbled upon this little article, it may answer every question ever about bullet penetration (it's long and fairly complicated)

Wow !! Thanks ! That is some very good reading !!! I am still trying to find a recipe for making my own ballistic gelatin ! Anyone know how they make the stuff? G

actually I found one a few weeks ago, it uses common gleatin, hang on a minute
