Malfunction after accidental discharge

Post by w123driver »

I thought it would never happen to me, but it did. P64 is my CCW. After I cleaned and lubed it last Sunday, I managed to drop it from about 3 feet on the basement floor. Loaded, decocked, safety off. The gun fired, but did not autoreload (the mag had all 5 rounds in it). The fired shell was still in the receiver and looked bulged on one side after I extracted it. The primer appeared pearced. I dissasembled the gun but could not put it back together, as the receiver wouldn't slide on the frame. Can't figure out what could be wrong; There was definitely excessive pressure because of bulge, but I can't imagine this could damage the receiver. Thank you for the inputs.

Wow you seriously got lucky! Do you have any photos of the brass or pistol and what brand of ammunition did you use? Also could the slide lock lever be causing the assembly problems?

I also found this about the trigger pin. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3770

I'll post a picture of the shell. It is brass shell, not steel. Fiocci Hungarian made. I indeed do feel very lucky. Nobody was at home when this happened and the gun fall facing my durection. I found bullet hole in the ceiling just above where I stood.
