I recently purchased the p64. I had an opportunity to buy a Bulgarian Makarov dirt cheap 15 years ago and I regreted not purchasing it ever since. So when I saw this pistol in the used gun case I decided to make the investment. I know they are not the same pistol and I still would like to have a Makarov but the p64 is a cold war relic on its own merit.

I would like to get some recomendations on ammunition and deep concealment rigs from the people who choose to carry and shoot these little guns.

Welcome to the board. You will like the P64 if you use 95g shells.

Buy a set of Wollf Springs. It is well worth the investment. If you scroll back through the boards you will find instructions on installation and selection. I use a 20# recoil and a 20# Hammer Spring: http://www.gunsprings.com/SemiAuto/PolishNF.html
I had to grind the ends of my 20# recoil slightly to make it fit, but it shoots like a dream now! I use the Desantis Mini Scabbard 019TA74z0 for the Walther PPK/S. It fits like it was made for the gun, but it is not deep concealment. Rides real tight to my belt though, and hides with a T shirt over it nicely.

I use an Uncle Mikes size 1 side kick IWB. Its soft and easy on the finish of my P64. Its all personnel preference as to which one you will like. Some guys go for leather, some plastic, I don't know what the sidekick is made of but its probably manmade materials. Its still very easy on the finish and conceals well. Part of the fun is looking for the "best rig" for carry. Good luck.

Check out the link below.

This holster was once called the pager pal, but the name was appropriately updated to cell pal.

The holster rides inside your pants or shorts on top of your thigh, and it is pretty comfortable so long as it’s not too hot out. The clip that secures the holster to your belt doubles as a cell phone case concealing the clip.

The construction is such that there is no imprinting on your pants, and it allows you to dress appropriately, by that I mean with your shirt tucked in.

I first saw this demonstrated at a gun show several years ago and immediately liked it. There is a short video demonstration you can watch to see if it appeals to you.

I have not carried my P-64 in this holster; however, it is a pretty universal holster and works great with the Kahr PM9 which is slightly smaller, yet wider, than the p64. Once I resolve an issue I have with my p64 I do intend to carry it in the cell pal holster.

Thanks for the advise I appreciate it. Does anyone here use the clip draw? I love the simplicity of it but do not like fact that there is nothing covering the trigger.

Happy shooting Keith

I use a Clip Draw for daily carry on my P64. I've had it on there for about a month and I'm very impressed. The tape they use is amazing. I've had to tighten the screws once but other than that it works great, exactly as advertised.
