Does anyone have a picture of the specific areas of the safety/decocker that should be polished or filed to improve this part? The one on my new P64 hardly functions it's so stiff.
Thanks a lot.

Thanks Norm.
Working on it now. Had a scare. Broke a cardinal rule, and the safety plunger and spring went flying. Took a while to find both, but thankful I did.
Do would suggest rounding off the plunger head a little, or actually creating a slight channel in the safety lever, or some other solution.
Thank you. Bill Graham

Bill
what I recommend , is just clean out . then just put a mixture of graphite and oil on it then work it, I don't even use the safety on mine, and most of the guys on the board that carry don't use it ether

bill, not trying to hijack the post but wanted to ask norm if this same strategy(graphite/oil) would work for a makarov. got a bulgarian that has a pretty tight manual safety even after cleaning and oiling. norm do you think this is more internal or just the external area around the safety lever? I guess I could try replacing with another safety and seeing if that works? to extend this not too big a concern because I dont use the safety much either. to be honest I only use it as a decocker when needing to practice double action.

NORM, you are a pretty brilliant fellow. Graphite mixed with gun oil works great. A slightly smoothed plunger and some of your paste concoction and it feels great. Nice and smooth. Thanks.
