please tell me there is nothing wrong with my gun

so I dipped my p64 last night in the cleaning solution. get home today and wipe, oil, put back together when I notice this maybe half inch notch in the barrel above the feed ramp on the right side. never noticed that before, my maks don't have it. the notch looks old and factory made, no shiny sharp parts that would make me think somehow a piece chipped off. am I correct, is this supposed to be here, and if so what is the significance for this? I notice it seems to be just in the path of the extractor.

I think your describing the notch which allows the extractor to grip the rim of the case. Don't think anything is wrong with your gun.

thanks so much norm. it's been a long weekend. I did the same cleaning on two of my maks and so this notch really threw me. I really don't know how I missed it. btw, putting a slide back on a p64 is a breeze compared to some of my makarovs. some of them are a real "bast.....rd" if you know what I mean.
