disconnector arm hang up?

Post by chuck »

Anybody have issues with their disconnector arm not always working right, the trigger moves freely without engaging the trigger arm? Is there a fix?

thanks,

chuck

disconnector arm hang up?

the trigger spring works, the trigger has tension, its the disconnector arm that doesn't always "pop" up. When viewed from the back of the pistol, the hammer is cocked and the disconnector that rests against the slide doesn't always return to its up most position allowing the trigger to be pulled but it doesn't engage the flat spring on the right side of the frame. Working the trigger back and forth returns the disconnector after a couple of times.

thanks,

You might try reading this thread...

Or this one...

Look at the photos and see if they help with your issue. The Official Manual/Disassembly thread is another good thing to look at.

If that don't work, take good pictures and post them.

thanks for the help have read the threads, have cleaned, looked at the inside of the slide for burrs...have played more with my p64 and found that with the magazine out and the hammer cocked I can pull the slide back, maybe an half inch, ride the slide forward and the disconnector doesn't return to the up most position and it takes working the trigger back and forth or using the safety to get the disconncetor back in its upmost position. Weak spring?
