Hey, thanks, Norm!! Very kind of you to post for me. 
And thanks for the comments, Pstr. I first need to apolgize for the flash pictures! The sun has left the Pittsburgh area for the season so all pics are inside now. 
The grip panel inserts are just self-adhesed to the grips. I can pull them right off with no damage to the grips. But, if I really like the set-up I plan to slightly sand down (Dremel) the inside edge of the checkered areas and contact cement the inserts in place so that the edges will then be flush with the top of the grips.
Thoughts?
