Yes I remember the commericals and I have used their blades, its been a long time though. The Lend Lease Victories were mainly sent to England and they sent them to other countries, Australia, Canada and South Africa, here is a site with a lot of info on the Victories.

Minw was shipped in 1942 to England, there are no marking on it to show it went any other place besides England, normally the grips would be smooth walnut but these grips are pre-war and I've not been able to find out anything as to why they are on the pistol, I picked this Victory up at a gun show for $250 OTD three years ago as you see it here. The field pack and ammo pouch in the pic are WWII era P-37 webb field gear.
As for the ammo, the British prefered the .38/200 round, why I have no idea, but we call it a .38S&W or .38 short.
