Steel to fabricate a disconnector for a P-64?
TNGuns wants $26 for a disconnector set with a spring, pin, screw and plunger and all I need is the disconnector which I can easily fabricate myself. What would be the appropriate steel and does it require any heat treatment? Mild steel, tool steel or what? I imagine the original is a stamping so whatever it was, it was probably stamped in the normalized state. If heat treatment is required, once it's hardened, how far down do I draw the temper? Sure wouldn't want it any harder than the parts it rubs against.

Troy,
It wouldn't be a turned piece, but rather cut out of thin plate. According to your illustrated parts list, it's part #2. Top right rear of the frame that fits into a cut out in the safety. Between the parts list and your assembly manual you've done humanity a great service. Were it not for you, I'd still be chasing my tail trying to get it detail stripped.
Thanks,
Goldmeister
