PA-63 Fixes?

Post by weetabix »

Are there threads or articles on the site to fix PA-63 recoil & DA spring issues just like for the P-64?

I've replaced my P-64 main spring with good results. The recoil spring is backordered, but I'm waiting eagerly.

I don't have it in my hands, yet, but I've read that it enjoys the same initial DA and heavy recoil challenges that the P-64 has.

I'd probably be looking at replacing the main spring and the recoil spring.

If you need a manual for the PA-63

http://www.angelfire.com/oh2/manowar/images/PA63.pdf

springs
http://www.gunsprings.com/SemiAuto/FegNF.html#PA63

I use in both of mine 9# hammer spring with a 15 # recoil spring you might want to order this

HAMMER SPRING PAK - reduced power, contains 1 each of 9, 11 and 13 pound reduced power hammer springs, allowing adjustment of the firearm to individual requirements.

if you have any problems changing the springs I will be glade to help

Norm in either the Pa63 or P 64 does the recoil change really help or is it precieved.. since you changed yours it makes me think you have a reason.. I ask because on some old threads there was a discussion ..if it helped or might have even hurt some of the alloy frames..

I think it dose change the recoil some , in my veiw the change in recoil is more of a strait back recoil with the spring change.
the PA-63 has a steel recoil plate or bar in it and a steel trigger guard to absorb shock when the slide comes back

and I think DENNIS's grips help in the recoil To

Don't keep us in suspense Norm! What did Dennis tell you? I bet he has more of an inside track than we do on this side of the water.

Hello Norm,
Sorry for getting back to you so late.

Some news...
FEG has closed and will not continue the manufacturing. The whole factory,
with the machines, the warehouse and the shop have disappeared in a few
days. Nobody knows where. They sold the guns to KESERU MUVEK who will turn
them to blank and gas guns (R-Police model = PA-63, Pepole's Republic
model = R61). The machines are sold to TNT-Mechanic.
