Final assembly will be dreaded tomorrow. I can't wait to do my Maks and the grips on them. I am thinking of some different colors for some of them.

Troy, That looks nice and you take some great pictures. I was thinking about getting one of my 64's done by a local guy. I will be interested to see how it holds up. This guy tells me it is pretty tough. I may do my cz-82 also...... but I am waiting for a holster to be made for it. ;D I really like the M-11 and M-42 for the 64.

TTH, What did you do that to it for? ...I mean what does the Dura-coat do? is it a stronger finish? than Blueing?
Does it need to be baked on? what about baking the grips? you did a good job on it! Thanks for the Pic-umentary !
I would like to see more Pictures from y'all on different 'Smithing techniques , mods, and repairs ! i know there are a couple on dismantling and spring replacement , but, more of these type would be great ,so, if anyone has a camera , please make vids or pics of the processes that you do and that will really help the newbies who come here to study their P-64s . Maybe a video section?
Thanks again TTH , G

Thanks... I have most of it back together pretty easy actually. However, I am having a difficult time in getting the trigger spring and trigger in place and aligning and inserting the pin through everthing. Any advice??? I think I may have to fabricate a tool to compress the spring then insert. The Polish must have had a technique.

I did it so that I could have something different on one of my P-64's. I love the bluing and there is nothing wrong with it. I plan on doing a very nice smooth polished bluing also. However, I understand that by going through the process that I did after about 3 weeks of continuing to cure the finish will harden even more and can stand 500hours continuous salt spray. It is tough and you don't have to bake it.... It was suggested that it go into an oven a couple of times at about 110F just to aid in the curing time. It can be handled in a few hours though. The grips are easy to do and I cured them with dry heat at about 110 for 5 hours and they are highly scratch resistance now.

Is anyone interested in having their grips done. Blasted and then duracoated?
