Norm, Chris here. Not trying to steal Dennis's buisness, but I have started to make Mak grips as well. I make them of any of the same woods that I make the CZAK out of. I'll be posting some pics of some Mak grips on my sight soon.
Later..

Nbender: You don't shoot that Mak do you!? That is just too pretty. 8~) I put the smooth Paduck wood on my Buly and it looks great but that Red Star in wood is awesome!

Chris, I realize we steal a lot of your thunder by posting Dennis's grips here. I'm hoping you get your pics up soon!
Carguy, I don't shoot that one much. I have 4 others that get more work.

Bulgy. Bulgarian. Arsenal.
Known as the "Workhorse" Makarov.
The excellent fit and finish on the E. G.s, and the fact that they are considered a true curio and relic class pistol make them the top of the line. They are not, however, made of any stronger steel, and are no more reliable and accurate than the Russian and the Bulgarian.

The Russian Military PM may be considered more of the "Top of the Line" Makarov. They're more scarce, command a higher price than EGs, and fit and finish are reported to be as good as any.

+1 with nbender............ ;D although the EG is very nice and one of the better Mak's, the Russian is the first in line for me. For a while it seems like the EG was bringing a higher price, but now the tables seemed to have turned. I only shoot my Bulgie's [2] and save my one Russian I have one left and it stays in the safe and my only EG, I traded over a year ago, wish I still had it, but wanted something else at the time, [S&W M1917]

Well, I haven't seen a Russian military model up close. I don't think I've seen an image that made the fit and finish look as good as the East German models. However, they are the origionals and they do bring a high price.
I have an E. G. of 1963, the same as that beautiful gun belonging to nbender. No red wattle grips, but the high polish and detail are the same. Those grips really set it off!
I love all my Makarovs, but I have to be honest....MY P-64s are MORE ACCURATE AND EASIER TO CARRY!!! LONG LIVE THE P-64!

Much as I like the CZAK (and it IS easier to carry) I must respectfully dissent.. I do better with my Mak than with anything else i've tried--with the possible exception of a Heritage .22 SA revolver...+1 with bzinggg, the P-64 is more accurate than any of the Makarov's....... ;DI love all my Makarovs, but I have to be honest....MY P-64s are MORE ACCURATE AND EASIER TO CARRY!!!
