saftey broke

Post by showme22 »

Just picked up one of the P64s and was really starting to enjoy it ,when the back part of the safety broke. I tried Numrich gun parts and couldn't find one . Is there anyplace to find parts like that for this pistol?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've been looking myself, with out success. I had seen them occasionally on gunbroker, but none right now.

This really should be a sticky in the "Buy, Sell, Trade" section.

I the past year I've recalled seeing a few people looking for safetys. These do come up every once in a while but it's the early bird that gets it.

Last time there was a parts gun sale the safety was sold before the gun was even in hand. Still people continued asking if the safety was available even after it was posted as sold.

Plus just a few days ago someone was asking for a safety.

Also I recall many many years ago there had been a discussion about getting someone to produce these. But I think it died as the production cost was looking like it would not be affordable.

I looked into having new parts machined a year or two ago, specifically the safety and firing pin, and I was quoted a price that was completely cost prohibitive. Something like $125 per part, in lots of 100 pcs. The safety could've been much better designed, requiring less tooling.
