rubberized grips p64

Post by trustingman62 »

Has anyone tried to rubberize the factory grips on a p64? Posibly using a dip or a spray on product available from hardware stores for rubberizing hand tool handles. Or using the product that spray in bed liners are done with on pickup trucks?

Yes. Someone posted about it here a few years ago. They first filed down the grips for texture. Then use spray on plastidip. In between coats they sprinkled sand in for more texture. You should find the post with pictures if you search around a little.

Thank you. I also found info on youtube.
I sanded the grips to add some texture for the stuff to adhere to then spayed several coats of pickup truck bed liner spray. I than bought a rubber sleev to put on grip also.

That looks like it turned out great.

How did it feel w/o the rubber sleeve?

It felt like I could hold a firmer grip plus it really made the old stock grips look better since they were scared up to begin with.
