P64 firing problem

Post by Rip_jeff »

I bought a p64 used offline that was supposed to be in good working condition. However when I load the gun and cock it back it will not fire. When I dry fire it won't fire. The only way the hammer will snap forward is if I dry cock it and apply the safety. Any suggestions?

The problem sounds to be somewhere in how the trigger, trigger bar, and sear interact. Try to look at those. You may need to take the slide and grips off to get a good look. If you can't figure it out on you own you may need to post a high def picture showing that side (right) of you P-64 where we can see those three parts.
