Just got my P64 & it came with a holster & bore cleaner rod. Besides the trigger question in the Mod Forum, I'm wondering if the holster is designed to store the rod like you see with other European holsters. Some holsters have leather tabs on the outside of it which hold the rod.
No such tabs on my P64 holster, but was it designed to fit inside the holster? Just curious.

Re: Newbie
CCF, this is the way it works. With an empty magazine in the gun, the slide will lock back to the rear. It will not go forward unless the magazine is removed. You then pull back on the slide and you'll hear an audible click, then release and it will close. Or you can insert a loaded magazine, pull the slide back, and let it go and it will load one in the chamber.

Got it. I guess I was confused. The key is an empty mag. I'm assuming it'll work like my other SA/DA with a loaded mag.juniustaylor wrote:CCF, this is the way it works. Thanks.

If it's a real P64 holster, it will have 2 little tabs
inside the holster for the cleaning rod.

My holster also does not have a place for the cleaning rod. It has a date inside that looks like 1982 so I don't think it is the original holster as advertised. My P64 is a 1975.
