Shaven recoil spring
Shaven recoil spring
Is it ok if I get lazy and do not shave the ends of a replacement wolffe springs?
Re: Shaven recoil spring
Sure, BUT, if you get the gun back together it might be a real pain to take apart again. Flatten the ends, it's easier in the long run.
No matter what "THEY" say... it's all just stuff!!
Re: Shaven recoil spring
Mine isn't shaved and I can get mine back on no problem but then I do have a bowl of Wheaties every day

As Curly1 said, taking the slider out and/or putting it back in with the 22lb spring is not that bad. I am more concerned about marking/damaging the mating surfaces as now the spring will not be touching them uniformly.
Re: Shaven recoil spring
I will have to take a look at other similar set ups, Makarov, Smc918 and PPK to see if they have flattened springs.

Re: Shaven recoil spring
I didn't have to flatten the ends on mine. However, I did it just for the sake of doing it.
