New guy with a new (to me) P64.

Hello all.

I've decided to stop lurking around and sign up now that I finally own a P64.

Ordered one from SOG last week with a holster, cleaning tool/rod, and one magazine. Added handpick and an extra magazine.

I received the package yesterday and was pleasantly surprised when I opened it. The pistol has a date of 1974 and the finish is great and the bore looks brand new.

I cleaned it up today and took it outside and put a few rounds through. Wow! Amazing accuracy and nowhere near the recoil I expected. My only complaint is I have no idea where the ejected brass went

I went shooting today....and I was standing about 5 yards in front of my trucks passenger side front blinker....i found a couple spent cases in the bed of my truck when I got home.....

I am very pleased with the condition. I think I may order a Romanian Tokarev from them this week.


Tomorrow I'm going to go buy 500 rds of 9x18 for the P64 and give it a work out (maybe put about 100 through it). Might pick up a spring kit too but it functions just fine as is.

I was hoping to save the brass since I reload but since it ejects them overseas I may be out of luck.

Everyone at the office went crazy over it and now they all want one. These are addictive little pistols. I wouldn't mind having a couple more.

Welcome!. I recently bought one, but not as nice as yours. Mine is at CCR getting a face-lift.

I am not sure why I am fascinated with this little handgun, but I am.

I'm in love with it too.

The fact that it is a small pistol that doesn't have a polymer frame like all the new stuff is a big plus. I love the ergonomics and it is very comfortable to grip. It has nice clean lines and is easy on the eyes (and wallet). Most small pistols I have owned/fired have a greater amount of recoil and have a bit of a sting whereas this one is a pleasure to shoot.
