Ordered another P-64 on Monday, should be here tomorrow. Was ordered from SOG ($139.95) with shipping + tax & handing fee for dealer = $186.06. Will be getting camo grips from Z for it. I just may get a clip for it or the one I carry all the time. Of all the guns I have, I find that I carry the P-64 the most.

not bad--my guy here still has a couple for $179 plus tax, I keep forgetting to ask him if he can get mags-- (he had two extras at one time for $10 each, I could kick myself for not snatching them up...)

Came in today to late to pick up. I will get it tomorrow. It will be cleaned, checked for rough edges, polished and anything it may need. May not to the range until next Friday, that should give me time to clean it good. Any tips to clean it good other than the standard cleaning?

Get a can of the cheap Brake Cleaner at the auto parts store and use the entire can on the pistol. This will definetly flush out any gunk, preservative oil etc. The good part is the stuff is cheap! But remember it is highly flammable, not good to breath into your lungs, and will dry your hands out fast. Wear gloves, do in a well ventelated area. I try to catch it on sale for .99 cents a can and buy a bunch.

Yea, it is Brake Cleaner. This stuff is in a spray can and will remove grease dirt or anything. Use the pressure from the can to spray into hidden areas of the frame slide, etc. The pressure will force any dirt, grease out. This stuff is sort of like Acetone, but I think is a stronger solvent.
Look for the cheap, no brand name cleaner; it is the cheaper stuff. The higher priced cleaner with name brands cost $3-4 a can, but no name stuff averages $1-2 a can. Both do the same thing! This used to spray on the auto brake compenents to clean the dust dirt fluid, etc from the braking system when you change pads or rebuild cylinders.
Oh yea, don't let it get near plastic, it will melt in front of your eyes!!!!

A lot of what needs cleaning is under the grips anyway, right? i don't think I would want to risk ANY grip with that stuff, thanks for the heads-up
