size and weight of p64 for concealed carry

I'm considering purchasing a P64 for concealed carry. I currently use a cz70, and I would like something with a bit more power. However, my cz70 is the perfect size and weight for me. I especially like the flatness of the cz70.


Can anyone tell me how the p64 compares?

The slide width is about the same, both a smidge more narrow than the Makarov. The stock grips of the P64 are a bit more narrow than the stock grips of the CZ-70, but the stock grips are more uncomfortable to shoot and many people replace them or add a grip sleeve like the hogue hand-all or similar product.

The CZ-70 has a higher magazine capacity and a more reliable safety system. The P64 cannot be carried Condition One.

The DA trigger pull on the CZ-70 is about as horrible as the DA of the P64, however, the P64's SA trigger is much (MUCH!) nicer than the CZ-70.

Changing the hammer springs on th P64 as many have done here makes the DA trigger pull much better.

What do you mean when you say the p64 cannot be carried condition one?

Condition 1 = Hammer cocked, pistol on safe... You can't do it with a P-64.

Extremely close. My caliper measures the CZ-70 at 0.873"/22.18mm and the P64 at 0.827"/21.00mm.

In comparison, the Kel Tec PF9 is officially 0.88"/22mm.

Changes with different types of ammunition. Different grain weights for the slug, different grain weights for powder amount, different case materials and/or manufacturers.

In general, of course, the 9x18 Makarov ammo is going to weigh more per round than a .32ACP.
