Springs etc.
Springs etc.
I installed the 22# recoil spring, extra power firing pin spring and 18# hammer spring today. All went easily but that little safety detent plunger sure is a bugger for people like me that can't see well up close to get into that darn small hole and get pushed in. While I was in there I deburred (stoned) some parts and stripped all the old oil and grease and cleaned and re-lubed lubed everything. Turned out nice... fit and function is excellent. DA pull is better but still a bit heavy for my liking. It's that last .25" of trigger travel where all the effort seems to stack up... single action pull is quite nice, maybe even a bit light for those lurking around checking out an unknown bump in the night. I'd keep it in DA mode under those circumstances.

Re: Springs etc.
These are well made guns....versus some of the stuff I see on the market today.
I hear ya on the eyesight issue. One of the best purchases I have made in the past few years right here....

Re: Springs etc.
I just installed the Wollf 22# recoil spring and it did noticeably reduce recoil, but didnt think about the fact that pulling the slide back is now more difficult! My procedure is to have a round in the chamber with the safety on. Then when i need it, i just take the safety off and cock the hammer (thus a double safety feature) so i dont have to worry about the difficult slide or terrible double action. This is for my wife on her bed stand. I will have her learn on my .380 PPK/S which has much less kick but she will eventually use the more powerful T-64.
I have not installed the other Wollf small spring behind the grip -- anyone with any experience with this? Does it affect the trigger and hammer pull? I dont think it is possible (practical) to lower this to a reasonable pull, but it is a good 3rd safety feature since i would not use it in DA.
I have 3 T-64 so can compare them. The safety on one is very stiff, how do i loosen it? The 2 i shot are very accurate but my hand is shakey after 20 rounds! But i havent done any shooting for the last 40 yrs, just getting back into shape.
BTW, a rangemaster told me the Russian ammo is a hot load which is consistent with its recoil; this is good news for self defense. I am looking for a range that has a chronograph so i can compare different loads (2 Russian 9x18, .380, 2 .45 including hydrashock) re velocity, weight, energy. Ha anyone done this for these common loads? I have book data on some but would like live data to compare and validate.
