After shooting the gun again yesterday, I would probably be willing to pay that amount to keep it working if my safety ever did break.

The firing pin is pretty much the same deal as the safety - too costly to reproduce without paying dearly for it.

I really find this odd. Not that it's costly, due to engineering time and line runs, but that no one has geared up and ran a zillion of these to take advantages of Economies of Scale.dfunk wrote:Update:

At least two places have done it for the CZ52 which seems to be about as popular as the P64.
If I still had any contacts in the private machinists I'd see if any of them were interested in doing some "garage work" parts.
