I have several reloading manuals going back to 1973, I like the Speer manual for most of my hand gun loads,

I still cross reference to my others though, especially when loading rifle ammo,

this taken from theSpeer loading manual

Hay NORM, have you tried the 4.4 gr. of accurate #2, if so how is the accuracy?

no I haven't , not going to be buying any pistol powder I have enough tell I die , I have what's left of 3 lb. can of W 231 , 2 8 lb kegs of unique , 2 8 lb. kegs of Hodgdon clays , 1 8 lb keg of IMR 4227 , 1 8. lb. keg of 2400, and 1 8. lb keg of W 296

OK Norm, fifty rounds of 95gr. Bear Creek moly coated round ball 9x18 with 4.4 gr's of Accurate #2 powder. I'm going to shoot Thursday morning and will give a range report. I've loaded the Winchester 231 in the past with very good accuracy, it will be interesting to see which powder is the more accurate from a P64.

Accuracy was not as good as lighter slower loads but still center mass on a 3/4 size silhouette at fifty feet. I'm also sorry that I used Wolf primers, I was forced to take one of my pistoles that has not had a recoil and main spring change in it and I wasn't able to try double action shots from the hammer down posistion, still an excellent self defense round.

Hay Norm, if there was one manual that you would recommend for handguns and rifles, which one would it be?

Gunney, where do I come up with one of these fifles that you speak of? I'm not an experienced reloader, but I'd say there are several variables. There almost seems to be no universal manual from what I've seen. Just loading the few calibers I've done I've had to consult numerous resources.

I think a new Lyman , but I do have several different manual's that I use for cross reference , for hand guns I like the Speer manual, for rifle I like the Sierra , but right now I shoot a lot more lead bullets in rile and hand guns so I have the Lyman cast bullet book , but I think the Lyman books are layed out better , Speer is next , I even have a LEE manual but is very hard to read with these old eyes
