NEW(?) P64 Magazines @ KeepShooting.com?

Post by soram »

I just got an email from KeepShooting.com.

Can THESE MAGAZINES really be FACTORY NEW (like they claim on the page) and not just LOOK NEW?

Ross

UPDATED: I just noticed (lol) they are OUT OF STOCK, so I guess NOT and just answered my own question! nevermind...[shaking head]

I just got some used from J&G Sales. All my usual sources for P-64 new mags are "out of stock" as well. There is a guy on Gunbroker from Poland selling them tho. Not sure about shipping costs and if they cn be bought in quantity to save on shipping. He also has P-83 mags.

i bought one off the guy in poland. the mags are like new. shipping was included in the price and was only $22. he doesnt take pay pal or CC so you haveto send a money order, which means a longe wait time. i think he has a buch of them but dont know for sure

I think I had the last order they sent before running out. They sent me 5 out of the 6 I purchased and gave me a refund on the last one saying they were out. The 5 look new and have very stronge springs. The springs are probably too stronge because I am having feed problems. I put some snap caps in them and plan to try them again in a few days.

Actually springs do not wear out under tension nor do they break in being held in compression. Springs were from flexing from relaxed to compression to relaxed again. FTF can be caused by recoil springs because that effects the pistol cycle timing. Cranking up the weight on the recoil spring to reduce recoil can affect a P 64 timing and reliability. Just my two cents for what it's worth.

Thanks Dick. I thought I remembered seeing that thread on the old board, but I couldn't find it the way I was searching for it. I have always dealt with J&G for both the guns and the mags.

I am not really looking to buy more mags per se. I was basically inquiring if anyone had bought any from this particular company and if they really were NEW.

I thank everyone for their input...
