Alumahide, has any one used it?

Any of you fellows out there ever heard of or used a product called Alumahide? Please forgive the spelling if incorrect, I've never actually seen the product. We are interested in your insights, please share with the rest of us if you have.

Hi GR,
According to Brownells, Aluma-Hyde is an epoxy-based spray paint which is supposed to withstand bore cleaners & solvents. I never used it myself, but it comes in various colors (gunmetal, etc.) to coat a frame/slide after the original coating is removed.
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency

GR,
Brownells has 2 versions of Aluma-Hyde.
Aluma-Hyde is for aluminum and alloy use. Aluma-Hyde II is for use on steel.
I have used Aluma-Hyde II on a few AK builds. It has been a trouble free finish. It has not been affected by cleaners or lubes as advertised.
You need to be patient with it as it does't cure overnight. I use it in the summer and let it cure for a week before handling.
Aluma-Hyde II is available in a range of colors. I like the gray parkerizing colors both normal and dark. When cured they look like a fresh park job.....very flat and dry. Once wiped with a lightly oiled cloth they look just perfect.

I have used it a lot . on shot guns, rifles and pistols. I use my little homemade oven to cure it even thu they say ypou need to. The one problem with it is the cure time.. it is fast to touch dry but in reality can take weeks to cure and because cured and repel chemicals and scratches. I also bulit that stove pipe oven for it.. I have replaced it as favorite finish since Norm got me going on ceramice paints..
