small 38 spl

Post by blinddog »

I was at a local gun shop the other day and spotted a little derringer that I kind of liked. I did somw research on it and found out that it was a pretty good gun to some junk to others and nice to some folks. I bought it, it is made by Davis Industries which is out of business now. I took it out and shot it and at 7ft. I had 4 for 4 in 10". the kick is tolerable but strong to say the least. The trigger pull is akin to a P-64 fresh from the dealer. It is all metal not any zinc in it and its sturdy. Has anyone had any experiences with one of these little guns or does any know of anyone who has had an experience with them? Oh, it is a 38spl shooting critical defence loads from Hornady. ;)

I have no experience with them, but a cobra 38sp derringer is on my Christmas list this year!

I carried them for years when they first came out. I bought my first one chambered for the .38 special, then traded it off to my commanders secretary as she needed a small purse gun.

My next Davis derringer was in .22 magnum. I carried this one for many years inside a special leather wallet type carrier. It was a good little derringer and concealed really well. Sgt P.

jhandy, Cobra bought out Davis Ind. It seems that Davis was sued to death. That was during the time where the gun manufactorer was responsible for the ignorance of the gun owner. That has since changed thank goodness. Davis derringers shoot doggone well for what thery are made for, and carry well also. I found a good in the wasteband holster for it and now all is well.

I will get some pics to you. The holster I got is made by Ace Case. It was made for a .25 auto but fits the little gun very well. BTW it is American made. ;D

Blinddog,
I have always thought that derringers are very cool, a tiny little IWB would be almost undetectable during the Summer and it would slip right into a coat pocket when the weather gets cold.
Looking foreword to the pic's.
