Help!! Can't Shoot!!!!

Post by martilyo »

Took my P64 to the range today and after 10 rounds, the slide locked up and I can't move it at all. I removed the mag, ammo, grips but I can't move the slide. Any ideas?

Martilyo

take rubber mallet pull the trigger guard down the smack the back of the slide , you probably have the recoil spring in backwards or you have a week trigger guard spring

Thanks, Norm. I have to borrow a rubber hammer, but I put the spring in with the smaller end in first. The spring is a Wolff replacement.

Thanks for your offer, Norm!
I'm 30 minutes from you, but I took it to Shoot Straight in Tampa and they fixed it free.
Are you going to the Central Florida Arms Show this weekend? I'll be there Sunday.

Did the gunsmith tell you what caused it to lock up?

I think we need to start our own P-64 'Summer camp'. Instead of making leather key chains. Have Norm teach P-64 repairs and Dickfunk do the leather. I'd pay to go 'To go to Summer Camp' for that.

Long as a few brewski's are involved I could use some camping time as well. :)
