Recoil Spring Q's

Post by popeels09 »

Going back a few pages on the threads I saw a post by "Newb" asking about recoil springs.

Bob answered with "Also remember it goes forward with much more gusto as well. You have to keep an eye on frame damage from the forward motion of the slide. You have to find the right combo. Some arbitrarily just throw springs in their firearms without thinking it of the consquences."

Now that the Wolff spring have been out for a while, what weight spring have members found to be the best compromise between rearward and forward "slam"?

I was going to go with the 20#, but perhaps the 18# was engineered at that weight for a reason?
