Odd SA/DA problem

Post by davebaird »

Thanks fellas! I appreciate the encouragement. If anyone hears who else is importing them, please let me know. I'll keep the repair as a possibility.

God bless, Dave

Odd SA/DA problem

Hello:

Read this thread, and checked my pistol. Unless I am mistaken, the only current importer of these pistols is:

P.W. Arms, Inc.
8525 152nd Avenue Northeast
Redmond, WA 98052
Phone: 253-882-1161 .

I have not contacted them so am not sure how responsive they are, or if they offer spare parts. Hope this proves helpful.

Norm, and everyone else, for that matter, too.... Without belaboring the point, everyone here is so helpful, it encourages others to be like-wise.

My March 22 pistole was from the J&G "New Batch," and they all seemed to be "import-marked" P.W. Arms. It would be nice to have a stable parts source, so I'm contributing what I know.

'Great bunch of contributors, and I do appreciate it.

Guapo

Well, I tried several times but it appears the phone number is for a FAX machine. If anyone has access to a FAX, maybe just ask if they sell parts for the P64 or know who does? Rats.

Thank you, Dave

It doesn't look like I'll be able to get a replacement disconnector lever anytime soon. :'( So, I have a question Norm....the only way I knew there was a problem with the gun was once or twice while firing a mag full, the gun would go back into DA for a shot, then go back to SA. Would it be it safe for me to remove the disconnector lever altogether or file more off the broken end of it? Would that make the gun all DA, or just mess it up even more? For now, even a DA-only P64 is better than nothing. ???

Happy Easter, Dave

Dave

I don't ever recommend filing anything on this guns, if you are ever in LAKELAND bring the gun by and let me look at it

:) Thank you, Norm. I live in Pittsburgh though. I will try to get a picture of it for you and email it. Basically, the curved hook is broken off the bottom of the lever. I do not have the capabilities to manufacture or repair something such as that.

I remember it breaking (although at the time I couldn't figure out what happened) on my very first mag. The trigger did not activate the hammer on the fourth or fifth round. I cleared everything, didn't notice any problem, reloaded and it worked. It wasn't until I kept shooting visit after visit that I noticed the odd occasion of the gun going into DA for a round or two seemed to be consistant. After you showed me pics of your gun I noticed the missing "hook" and saw the rough edge on the lever where it came off. I am hoping the lever was mal-formed and there is not a problem internally that will break another lever!

Happy Easter! Dave
