New to the forum but have a large collection of guns, mostly S&W, HK, Sig, Browning, Walther, Marlin, Bushmaster, Beretta etc etc. Well got the itch to play gunsmith and buy a new pocket gun ie P-64, add some wood grips (http://www.marschalgrips.com) , trigger job, paint the sites etc. If a person like me was looking for a great deal on a P-64 where would I go. I hear J&S has them but I want LNIB, maybe 2 of them. Checked Gunbroker, and Auctionarms but the price seems high. Please help......
Thanks,
Mike

J&G is the last place that is carrying a decent quantity of the P-64. If you read through some past posts you'll see that one of the fellas just got one from J&G and was extremely happy with the condition.

That would be me! I posted some pictures of it too, but they just don't hardly do it justice. I was extremely pleased with the condition. If these little pistols came in boxes, I would definitely consider it LNIB! Mine appears to have never been fired and doesn't have any scratches or wearing to the bluing. I described it as looking like it did when it came from the factory back in 1976. I got it from J&G Sales and the guys that I talked to were very helpful.
I was exactly like you and wanted one in pristine condition. I told the fellas at J&G this and they told me that for an extra $10 they would hand select the best one out of 5. I talked to another guy from there who told me that I could do that if I wanted, but it wouldn't be necessary. He said all of the ones they have in stock are in excellent condition. Maybe there are some deals on Gunbroker, but I have yet to find one. I'd go with J&G while they still have a good supply. I'd be really surprised if you weren't impressed with them.

I just got 6 p64 from J&G. They are like new, except for some slight wear where the hammer hits. My guess is this is from testing/dry firing.
I gotta do something about the double action pull though. I plan on changing springs if it doesn't loosen up after putting some rounds through them.
So, these guns are as close to new as you will get IMHO. The price is right too---I almost want to hoard a ton of the LOL

One more in favor of J&G. I went and bought from them in person, and the salesman(John) brought four for me to choose from. I am very satisfied with this pistol. I feel that I got twice the gun I paid for
