J&G Import Markings

Has anyone bought a P-64 from J&G, ....or noticed the import markings in their photos?

I looked at MCS tonight, the only place I buy them, just wanting another one (Newbies, this happens, it is part of the addiction, I am actually beginning to collect each year). The year I was looking for was out of stock, so I looked at J&G just to see what else was around.

I noticed the BILLBOARD STAMP and the fact that the P-64's J&G are offering were imported by PW Arms, not TN Guns........Strange I thought........

I was under the impression that all of the P-64's were imported by TN Guns. I have seen mint, used, and beat to carried examples of the P-64 and they were all TN Gun imports.

The P-64 on J&G also looks like it has some corrosion on the top of the slide. This might be cosmoline, I don't know, but it looks a little weird to me.

Any other thoughts or observations on the J&G variety?

Could we be at the end of the line where we actually have to say "matching numbers" when referring to the P-64? Personally I have never seen a P-64 that did not match, but I would think that at the end of the line we may be seeing this. I know that there have been guns parted out, but that is a parts thing, not an import thing.

all three of mine are TN guns and are marked on receiver just in front of trigger. I haven't heard any problems with not matching and the only thing forced matched and etched are all my mags and the spare mags.
as far as quality I think I have gone into the last one I got from SOG and how bad the exterior was, and what I felt was terrible attitude of SOG. it was the last business I have done with them . They didn't care about me and I had done a lot of buying there so I dint care about them. I will add it was during the last dry period and think I got one of their last ones in stock. sorry off the subject.I have found that AIM and J and G usually are very reputable with their grading and statements.
good thing was I spent a lot of time doing a refinish and was a benefit to my knowledge base.
I believe that this might be the last batch coming for awhile or at all so as the the stock depletes I think some of your projections are accurate..

That is the same photos JG has had up since they started selling them. I have a 76 with the PW Arms markings that came from JG and it is in perfect shape. I hand picked it (did not take long) and it appeared to have been fired very little. All their P64's at that time were in fabulous shape. The "corrosion" is more than likely a poor photo or possibly just some foreign matter. I was at JG yesterday and the P64's on display were very nice looking pieces.

I just ordered a p-64 from J&G. I'll let you know how it looks when I get it.

My P64 is also a 76 marked PW Arms of Redmond Wa as was my CZ82 from AIM purchased in 2007. Many of the surplus pistols I see on the web have the PW markings.

I agree with 6x6pinz, that picture appears to be a file photo but it certainly made me think twice about buying from J&G. If I were them I would post a more representative photo of their products...

Each of the four pistols that I chose from at J&G were of 1976 build, and each had the markings as you describe, rather than the "TN Guns" stamp you see elsewhere. Overall I would say that the condition of the pistols they have in stock is "very good". Only one of the four had any marks where the slide rails dragged against the frame. All four had good shiny bores. I shot mine for the first time today(after completely stripping, lubricating and reassembling it with a lighter Wolff mainspring) and am VERY pleased.

Off-topic, the P-64 sure does make my "compact" Glock 19C feel like a behemoth
