I bought this helmet at a yard sale for $1.00 I don't have a clue if it is military or not the clasp on the chin strap says "Anchor Brand" Pat. 6-26-12. It really looks interesting and if anyone can give me some info on it I would be a happy man.

Norm, I think it could be. If it is I think it should be Navy don't you. I have search for a while but nothing has nailed it down to anything specific. Thanks for the input Norm, you are thinking along the same lines I am.
real old helmet
Dont know for sure but I have one similar that my great grandfather wore in the civil defense force back some time between the two world wars.

Trent, that makes sense also. I suppose that civil defense helmet would be white. Trying to remember some old movies...best I got is the 3 stooges. ??? Norm that would put it in the correct time that you thought it was worn. Thanks trent, that makes sense now.

Some of the reinactment pics had some of the guys wearing helmets th may have matched but they were not close eneough to reall tell. Thanks Norm, those were some really interesting pics.
