Thanks for the heads up Trent, I don't have any of the poly barrels so I'm in the process of getting a decent order together with the brothers and buds, maybe 2-2500 rounds and get the shipping down a bit.

Well the brown truck showed up with 2500 rounds of 9mm. 1500 of the S&B range safe fmj in copper plated steel cases, and 1000 or the Armscor lead in brass cases. I'll try and get out and shoot some of each along with the 4th of July targets and report out what I find.

I have about 600 rounds left of the S&B 9mm, it shoots very well in all of my pistole's and it is the only ammunition that my CZ 52 9mm conversion shoots reliably, very accurate. Let us know what you think.

I shot some of the Armscor through the Sig P-6 and P226 tonight. Didn't have any failures of any kind with either of those two, fed well and extracted everytime. My vision to the targets were blurred by the 3rd or 4th round though, this stuff is very smokey, but again, it shot great out of the Sigs.

My brother brought a co-worker from his job and I let him try the XD-40 with the 9mm conversion barrel in it. He only shot 2 mags out of it. One was wally white box and all went well, but when he shot a mag of the Armscor he had a couple of failures to feed, the bullet was stuck on the feed ramp both times. There's a chance the recoil spring may be getting weak, so I'm going to change that out before I blame the ammo on the feed problem.

My brother opted for the S&B range safe fmj in copper plated steel cases, and he said it worked well for the most part in his new M&P full size. Again his co-worker was mostly shooting this also, and had a couple of failures to extract the spent round, case was still in the chamber with a new round trying to join it in the chamber. He said he could really see the flame out the barrel with this ammo, but the recoil was pretty much the same as the WWB. So I guess I would recommend these ammos, since it is pretty much range ammo and for the price even with shipping you can't go wrong with either of them.

Thank you very much for this review, the last two one thousand round box's of reloads I ordered smoked like the dickens no matter what length barrel I shot it through, almost like black powder and thats the last of the smoky stuff for me.

Well another thing to consider if you're shooting the Armscor lead bullets, at least in the XD 9mm conversion barrel by EFK, it's a stainless Match Grade barrel, and man did it lead up badly. The Sigs only ran through a couple of mags each of this stuff and after running a bore snake thru both of them they looked perfect, even before the snake I didn't notice any leading. I did run the XD pretty hard at the end of the last range visit, probably 4 mags of 16 in less than 3 or 4 minutes so the barrel may have gotten pretty hot and caused some of the problem. So far I've hit it with the snake, no change, bore brush and patches with KleenBore solvent, not much change, and a couple of pieces of lead-away cloth on a jag and brush and a little more lead disappeared. Right now I've got a piece of cotton rag soaked in solvent soaking in the barrel overnight, hopefully tomorrow it will be lead free once again after some more brushing. I don't usually shoot any non jacketed bullets as a rule, so if after running some more of this stuff thru the Sigs doesn't have the same outcome as on the XD, I'll possibly pick up more of this Armscor. I just won't run it thru the XD conversion barrel anymore. Here's a few pics of what I'm referring to. It looks worse than what the pics show, but you'll get the idea. And if anyone has any suggestions for a different lead removal formula I'm game!!

does it have octagonal rifling or standard, although in the pics it appears to be standard it's still a tad hard to tell. I've hear that orthogonal's don't take well to lead bullets.

I'd say Brush Brush Brush, When my brother went through BCOT (Correctional officer school) they used revolvers which got pretty leaded up and they made the cadets brush til their hearts content.

Trent it is a standard rifled barrel, and it's slowly getting back to normal. I brushed it some more this afternoon and put the saturated cloth back in to soak again for tomorrows brushing. Hopefully then that'll be the end of my hearts content!
