hammer spring for PA-63

Post by mikeh1 »

I'm thinking of finally changing the hammer spring so I can shoot DA without using both hands. Will a 11# spring make a difference or should I just go with the 9# ?

There are reports of light primer strikes with the 9 lb. hammer spring.
I installed the 11 lb. in my PA-63. No failures to fire and there is indeed a much lighter DA pull.
If you have to order springs, may as well get the recoil spring also. A 13 lb.works very well and there is a 15 lb available also.

thanks again sir.

the first thing I got for the gun was a 15# recoil spring. I couldn't shoot more than one box of ammo with the original spring, without having a mighty sore hand

hammer spring for PA-63

I just opened my new spring kit for the PA-63. I can't fiddle with the pistol right now because I just got through with having a load of dental work done and my head has that hollow, aching feeling. Could have sworn I saw a very detailed set of instructions, with pictures, on changing the recoil, firing pin and hammer springs in the PA-63. Can someone show me were those instructions are? I would like to get these springs changed out tomorrow before I have to go back to work. Thanks, folks.

the new 11# spring made a BIG difference in trigger pull, and Norm's instructions and pics were extremely helpful. Thanx Norm! :-*
