Drumroll PLEASE...New Toy Alert!!!

Post by manicmechanic »

Hi Russ,
I was looking at one of my Ruger haunts and found some links for a bunch of Kel-Tec info, including some neat stuff for yours. I think you'll especially like the tear down section. And I don't want to hear about you making those illegal 11 round mags either lol!!

Nice stuff! Thanks

And I don't need no stinkin 11 round mags...I just picked up two 30 round pre-ban mags!! I am thrilled...they cost way too much but it was worth it...just to play with!! Now I just have to save for the darn ammo!!! I think I am going to get a railed forestock instead of the silly "useless bipod" it came with and some sort of scope or red dot for the picatinny rail. Other than that this foray into the Evil Black Rifles seems to be complete.

It sure is fun to shoot though... :-* :-* :-*

Boy I couldn't wait to load up those 30 round mags and go to town!!

What a bitch...these are at least 14 years old and unused, like new with stiff springs... :'(

Once loaded they were tough to get seated and chamber rounds with regularity...I figured they are new...need some breaking in!!

Then the firing pin breaks>>> :(

I spoke to Kel-Tec this morning and 2 new ones are on their way...FREE! And I had them throw in a compact front forestock with a rail...verey AR'ish...that wasn't free... :P

So a project for next week I guess...I hope!!!

I don't know what or how it happened. Suddenly cycle...click, cycled...click. After I pulled out the mag my son gave it a shake and out falls about 1/4 of the firing pin (the part closest to the hammer as the rest is held in by a pin).

I have read that there were a few issues with these pins a couple of years ago on the earlier models...which I do have. As you said the good part is Kel-Tec has a lifetime warranty for the original owner and they are treating me like I'm it. Wonderful person on the phone this morning. So, I'll wait for the mail"person" and hopefully be shooting this weekend and figure out those 30 round mags!!

carguy,

this is just a sign that you should stick with 10 round mags. The MASS powers that be would be proud of you....if you'd just stick with 10 rounders. :-/
