I went to this very small gun show today. I saw a few ok deals but none worth my taking. I did see 2 P64s, the seller wanted $225 each with only 1 mag.
I did score 4 ammo cans and a good deal on 280 rounds of 1980s production Spanish 5.56x45mm ammo!! ;D
Incidentally Carguy,
I also saw 4 French Mas rifles, 2 Mas 36's like and 2 semi-auto clunkers of which I didn't see the model number. Ordinarily I wouldn't care but one of the 36's was bubba'ed and it looked exactly like your Mas 36 before you restored it, they wanted $250 for it! Makes me wonder if someone is making business of turning French rifles into deer guns. The other 36 was in bad shape, like it had been thrown off the Maginot Line or something
Any recollection what those 2 semi-auto clunkers were going for? They were probably MAS 49/56s and are a really cool semi version of my Mas 36. In their original 7.5 caliber they are supposed to be really great shooters...for a French gun that is.
I almost picked one up for $450 last month then decided I liked being married better...well sorta... :'(
I'm shocked at the "sporterized" version listed at such an outrageous price but then again you're not supposed to go to a gun show to buy a gun!!! ::)
barnett, those French semi-autos are a little expensive but if they were in great shape that is the going price (almost). Like I said they are being touted by the French board as a really fun and accurate shooter! But what do the French know...nah...I really would like one but $550 for anything right now is too much. I'll have to stick with my sks for semi auto fun and the ammo is alot cheaper!
ok here carguy but I have an M1 from CMP ...
but I totally agree about the sks and cheaper to shoot... see the french sometime even wont be an ally to each other
ok ok what ever carguy says I agree dont want you to feel shunned or forgotten on that island hey heard maryanne (Gilligans Island)has some good stuff she smokes maybe she will hang out on your island
