The Makarov Revolver

Post by orchidhunter »

Anybody know anything about this Rusky revolver? I am inclined to think the only thing Makarov about them is the round they were chamberd for. I do not think it was one of Fred Makarov designs. It is said that there is a East German example of this revolver. I have seen pics of the Rusky example, odd looking thing it was, about the size of a S&W J-frame. Anyone know if any ever made it to the States? orchidhunter

Do you mean the Nagant revolver? I am not aware of a revolver chambered for the 9x18 Makarov cartridge.

There were some Russian made revolvers chambered for 9x18 Mak. I cannot recall the models. Arsenal of Bulgaria also made revolvers chambered for 9x18 Mak. Good google search exercise for somebody.

This is a Russian Revolver supposedly created for the "secret police" but never made or made in limited quantities...caliber...9x18 makarov.

Never found one or seen one on an auction site...but will continue to look!

Not a 9x18 but an unusual Russkie revolver just the same.

Another 9mm Mak revolver, the Kobalt. Pretty normal-ish though, besides the weird moon clips.
