3 Things I never leave the house without

Post by sempertiger »

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to say hello, since I'm new to the site.

I also, wanted to share the 3 things i never leave the house without.

my keys, my watch and my P64.

I've been looking around for different ways to carry my P64 and think i finally came up with a comfortable way to carry it, thought it isn't the most attractive way.

I took this holster

from http://www.unclemikes.com/products/insi ... sters.html

Number 8910-1 from the size chart and modified it a bit.

[Image

the modification was strengthen the portion over the trigger guard, open the bottom most portion so the end of the barrel sticks through, and tack stitch the opening so it doesn't open any more.

would have looked better, but all I could get from the wife was white thread.

Well, I look forward to talking to you all and learning more about what I can do w/ my P64

J

Glad to have you!
A black magic marker will fix the white thread. Good idea for a carry holster.

I see [image] where I hoped to see a photo of your modified holster. Could you post a picture?

I found my Uncle Mike's IWB holster at a local outdoor store for less than $20. I've worn it and found it to be quite comfortable and since it was so thin, it was unseen. The only problem I found was on the range. Once the pistol was withdrawn, the holster flattens out making it difficult to replace when empty. Of course your milage may vary. I carried in on my hip.

How does that compare with this one from Makarov.com?

I have the standard one, and it seems to work quite well. I think it may, just may, be working the finish a bit, but I figure that gives character to a carry piece.

I prefer the holsters from brigadegunleather.com. They are really nice! I also really like the holsters from HBE although I am not sure he makes them for the P-64. He specializes in CZ.

Yup, HBE does make leather for the P-64. Check his holsters out, they are beautiful. he is a great guy and will ensure you get the holster that is right for you. I just purchased two.
