CARE PACKAGE FOR U.S. SOLDIER

Post by manicmechanic »

Hello P-64 Family,
Since the Care Package that was sent to Bartos went so well, and there are some funds left over from that fund raiser, I've found another paratrooper in Afghanistan who happens to be a U.S. soldier in need of some items. I'm still going to use some of those funds to send another package off to Bartos, per those that have requested. He and Aaron, the U.S. soldier, have asked for some jerky and other items that I'll be shopping for soon.

I hope those that I didn't contact on the original package to Bartos will forgive me for that. I didn't have the time to contact the hundreds of active and non-active members here, and try to keep that one a surprise for Bartos. This soldier and his fellow soldiers in his unit, as far as gotmak knows, do not know of this package coming or of this forum. That will make it a lot easier in giving them their surprise.

I know the economy, at least here in Michigan, isn't the greatest. It won't take a large amount to make this happen. Most of the donations on the first package were 5-$10. If you're interested in donating to this cause please pm or e-mail me and I'll get back to you asap with mailing info and/or a phone number. If you have any questions or concerns I can call and/or be called to try and explain anything the best that I can.

I became aware of this soldier by "gotmak", who knows him personally from the INDY area. Aaron has served with his family at an orphanage ran by the Institute In Basic Life Principles in Indy. His home state is Oregon. He has been right in the thick of things and has a big heart for the Afghan children. Here are a couple of pics of him in action.

Finally found some time to make it out shopping, picked up the jerky, some batteries, Q-tips, fruit rollups, still looking for a good price on a coffee maker. Hopefully I'll find something tomorrow so this can get shipped out to Aaron and Bartos by Monday. I'll get some pics and scans of receipts posted up soon. So if anyones on the bubble of sending a donation let me know soon. Thanks, and say an extra prayer for our boys putting it on the line!!

WOW! That is some grocery list you have assembled. You have covered the whole list of suggested items M.M. Awesome! It will be like a late Christmas gift for the boys. "Santa" really came through on his wish list. Bravo again guys for a tremendous gesture of support for the troops overseas. 8-). Can't wait to see pics of his face when he gets it. :'( Thanks again everyone!!!

Thanks to everyone for their generosity and especially manicmechanic for the hard work and effort he has put into both of these care packages.

This is just another example of what a wonderful extended family we have here, it makes me feel food to be a member.
