What's good ammo?

carguy, that would equal $.30 a round or $300 for a 1,000-round case. For steel-cased, non-reloadable ammo. I think we can find better.

I don't know the shipping costs on this but AIM has Prvi Partisan brass-cased reloadable for $10.95 a box. Has someone ordered this recently and can report on shipping? PP is good ammo.

Just got an order of the 762, the 9x18, and some 25 acp.. shipping fast and effcient cost for shipping was 10.00. well packed... ammo was good shape and all of it shot well... I have become a fan of aim now I always try and deal locally but that is getting more difficult lately..

Still some deals out there on ammo. Bought 1,000 rounds of Silver Bear 94 gr HP on a Gunbroker auction today for $142.95 + $11.60 shipping. I was the only bidder.
The guys in Stillwater, OK? I bought that same ammo, but on a different day. I was the only bidder on mine, too. :D

I think they run 1-day auctions for lots of different ammo.

Just now checked, and they've gone up to $167.95 for the 1,000 rds.

Dang.

I know S&B is good ammo. I don't know anything about the 24 round white boxes so 30 cents a round could be a fabulous deal for someone interested, I just wanted to post it in case... ???

carguy: Not the Bummed Smiley!

For the record, I would not ever argue with this man.

I agree that the steel-cased S&B is good, reliable ammo. But that vendor on Gunbroker is a complete rip-off. Samco has sold this ammo for years and years:

http://www.samcoglobal.com/ammo.html

And they advertise it at 15.9-cents a round. Or 240-rounds for $38.16. (Plus shipping)

A vendor at our local gun show sells it for $4.50 for the 24-round box (19-cents a round).

I'd be willing to bet that both Gunbroker and our local guy are buying from Samco and turning around and trying to make some minimal profit by selling it at inflated rates to boneheads.

No, Carguy is not a bonehead. I love this guy, and his cow.

GoldenLoki/ammo/gel/9x18/gel9x18.htm.com shows comparison between Barnaul, CCI, CorBon, Hornady & Master.
I use Hornady 95gr JHP/XTP ammo. GoldenLoki shows Hornady has decent penetration and excellent expansion.

Bender,
Yes I have swapped the trigger spring and I guess that the Wolf ammo is the only manufacturer that I have a problem with. I did note the same issue prier to the trigger spring change and have noticed an increase in the issue since.

GR,

You had me for a bit there. I finally figured out to go back a few weeeks to see what you were refering too.

I don't think of read of problems before with the Wolf Military Classic in 9x18, but your problem is noted.
