Wildly Off Topic - Interstellar Exploration

Post by nbender »

Now this is way off the realm, but Space mentioned he has worked on Cosmic Ray research.

If any of the members are interested: ... and I don't blame you if you are not! The Voyager probes launched in the 70's still report back. They were supposed to phone home for 5 years, but with nuclear power generators they continue sending back data. These were the first probes to photograph the outer planets, and they are now are looking for the boundary between our sun's influence (the stellar wind) and the interstellar universe.

So, if you read this far ... here's NASA's website for the Voyager missions. I love this stuff. Chuck Berry in outer space! Your interest may vary.

This is the insturement Dr. Webber had on Voyager. We had a replica in the lab when I worked there along with a copy of the "Golden Record" and plaques that were on board. Pretty cool stuff.
