Went out last Friday with my daughter and a old shooting buddy to a local outdoor range (Cecil Webb Management Area near Punta Gorda,Fl). I had given her a 357 revolver to take home with her and wanted to make sure she was familiar with it. She grew up around my guns and hunting but has not shot in a while. It was quite busy being the day after T'giving.
Let her shoot a box of 38's and a few 357's, the 38's are what she will keep in the gun as she lives in a condo...357 might take out a neighbor :'( I gave her a choice of my Astra A75 9 m/m or the revolver but she liked the revolver better.
I took the P64 to run a few rounds through it too. I had forgotten just how sharp the recoil is!! We were shooting at 15 yrds and I put a few rounds on the paper but my buddy, who has always been a better shot than me put six rnds in the black! He was surprised at how accurate the gun was. I need to practice more
They say that practice makes perfect.
I say they are full of doodoo! I practice at least once a week and never get any better. However I do have a great time trying and as long as the little white sheets of paper don't start shooting back I think I'm going to be OK.
Your buddy is lucky to have a good friend that will let him tag along, good luck with your daughter, she has a great dad who is willing to take care of her even when he is not around.

How do you like that shooting range? I pulled in there once to check it , but was not sure of the "protocol" in shooting there. I live 20 minutes north of it.
Don
Don,
Its pretty nice, pistol and rifle ranges. It cost $3.00 a person or $6.00 a carload...pretty cheap! Its obviously not as crowded during the week and if you can, thats when I would go. Get on the web and do a search for the times..I believe its open until 6:00 most days.
