LAKELAND GUN SHOW
LAKELAND GUN SHOW
I can't understand why Suncoast would want to schedule a show on the 2nd weekend of deer season (and the start of the only doe week we have).

"but it is a gun show" & "to sell guns and ammo" Well put Norm.
Better enjoy them while you can, in the near future there may not be as many gun shows and in the next 4-8 years there may not be any gun shows, but I would bet there will still be plenty deer out there, and I also bet you will still be able to go deer hunting, at least for the time being, just a thought. In the last year or so I have seen BATF with tables at gun shows in Ky, In, Al, Tn. and Fl., it is like they are coming out of the woodwork, and they were coming around talking and checking on the private dealers. Here in Ky, they are checking the flee markets and antique shops, and auctions.
From talking to a close friend of mine in FL that is a FFL and has a gun store, BATF is starting to really check his records for stolen guns on a pretty regular basis and are looking a lot closer at Private Dealers, to me this is the hand writing on the wall that private dealers like myself and many others are on the way out, and usually, not always, but usually the private dealer is were to get your best deals, and the walk in's of course. Maybe I'm just being paranoid about this, but milsurp is my hobby and I love going to gun shows, although in the last year or so the dealers prices are really going up at a faster rate than I have ever seen before. I don't know, but it not looking to good the way I see it.
We all have our priorities, that is only natural, so just enjoy what you can while you can, but these old bones are telling me there is a big change coming and maybe sooner than we know.

LAKELAND GUN SHOW
I went to the Lakeland gun show yesterday, 6/28/08 and met a gentleman from Live Oak, Fla. who had a table there selling custom grips. He had a set of plain walnut grips on a PA-63 that cost $35. He also had exotic grips at higher prices, such as $50 or more. He said he can make grips for any pistol or revolver as long as they are not the wraparound type like those on the P-64. He is making a set of plain walnut grip for my FEG R-61.
