Brown Bear or Silver Bear 9mm Luger

Good evening fellows, Is anyone shooting Brown Bear or Silver Bear 9mm ammunition. If so, are you having any problems with wear on the ejector or the extractor? Looking foreword to your replies, thanks in advance for your input.

I have used a lot of it no problems at all that I know. I just ordered 1000 from aim

9 MM ammo or 9 x 18 ammo and in witch gun

I've shot gobs of Silver Bear 9x18 JHP through my Baikal Makarov & my CZ-82 and (maybe) 200 through my P-64.

I can check for ejector wear. Where, exactly, should I look?

I thought I'd read somewhere that the combloc pistols were designed for steel case ammo.

OK, I guess I was a little vague about my question, I was referring to 9mm luger. :-[
I belong to a gun club called A Place to Shoot in Portland and the owner won't stock Wolf ammo etc, stating concerns about air quality. I have absolutely no problem with that, it is her range, her lungs and she is there ten plus hours per day, probably a smart decision on her part. One thing she did say that I was not sure about, that the steel casings are hard on the extractor, ejector, etc. and will ware parts out sooner than brass cased ammo.. I was just curious if anyone else has heard this or believes the statement to be fact. I was thinking about starting to shoot Silver Bear and Brown Bear ammo in some of my better guns and thought I would ask the question first to get some feedback from you fellows.

weetabix is right most combloc guns and rifles are made to shoot steel cases because of chrome plated bores

as for 9 mm I don't think ware is a problem I think breakage would the problem of the extractor
extractor's are made from harden steel, soft steel will ware harden steel brakes or chips

also I think Silver Bear would be a lot less likely to stick in the chamber because of no lacquer on the cases nothing to gum up the works to cause a stuck case witch would make the extractor more liable to brake or chip

I was reading on a board yesterday they were bragging about how much wolf ammo they buying for there AR's and how cheap it was, they were also saying that the AR's extractor's won't stand up to wolf ammo , there were guy's there that said ( that's alright AR's extractor's were cheap )

I won't go to that site very often ( I do feel sorry for those AR's )

I had a chance about 2 weeks ago to get some wolf ammo ,because of Norms and others here advice I passed. I went with my order with aims instead...

The Russians take pride in their soft steel cartridge cases. The discussion of whether Russian steel cases hurt extractors will never go away, but it's my own opinion that the Russians have designed these casings much softer than hardened extractors; and may be in fact as soft as brass (something to check someday!). Of course the problem with steel is it does not have the elasticity of brass and is nor suitable for reloading.

I'm just talking about east block pistols that were designed to shoot east block steel casings. I don't know shinola about AR extractors.

Thanks for the input guys, I guess I'll stick with Winchester and Remington ammo for the range. Those are the two cheapest manufacturers we can buy in the area and stick with the silver bear for my European favorites.
