Ammo price warning!

Post by trent »

I've been seeing a trend in local stores of ammo going up like 10% or more, so I checked with the online dealer with the current best prices in ammo, aim surplus and he said that ammo prices will be going up on everything but 5.45x39 within about a month. This may be the time to start stocking up!

Thanks for the Heads-Up ! That is aweful news! especially when OUR Gov't. is buying/ giving so much of it to foreign countries.
It is odd to me that they don't need to put any limits on that 5.45x39 ammo. I guess the Axis of Evil countries mostly use AK type weapons that aren't chambered for 5.45 yet. ?? I have seen video of little 5-10 year old kids in Kyber pass making bullets. I guess I'd rather they shoot ammo at each other that was made by children ,than to see them launch more attacks with Donkey Rocket Launchers though. That is some scary stuff there. To have a herd of mean flea-bitten, yellow-eyed, swayback, Bomb carrying Burros charging at you, Hooves a'spinning, just HAS to be Terrifying .
ahem.... I mean , Thanks Trent ! G

Our biggest show of the year was this weekend in Puyallup, WA. It's a really really big shew, to paraphrase Mr. Sullivan. I saw one IJ-70 for $350, one PA-63 for $200.

Only one vendor sold 9x18 (out of over 100-feet of ammunition tables). He asked $10/ box for Wolf 100-grain and Silver Bear HP. He asked $4.50/box for the 24-round steel-cased Sellier & Bellot.

Just 6 months ago a vendor was selling Norinco 9x18 for $8/ box and my buddies and I thought that was too high.

Norm, if you're encouraging people to reload that's probably a good thing.

A lot of people can't. So the current prices are mentioned.

Currency exchange rates and supply and demand at work. With all the P-64s, PA-63s and CZ-82s being sold and the popularity of Maks, the demand for 9x18 may have surprised some ammo retailers.

yes I encourage reloading

(Can't I hate that word ) if there is a will there is a way

cost : its far cheaper to produce a higher quality bullet by reloading
room : if you have room for a army foot locker you have room for a reloading press
time: a few hours or a rainy day or a snowy day for you guys that live up north
rocket science : its not, if you can read you can reload ( I'm one of the worst readers and writers there is )
prices ammo : are still going to go up every thing dose, just reaffirms that I'm glade I reload,

I'm glade when someone finds cheap ammo except WOLF ammo ( witch I will not endorse WOLF ammo because someone could get hurt or damage their gun)

Norm I think I am just afraid to start so it must be the fear it self on my part. am working on that. If I knew some one in area I might try sooner. but feel I will reload soon as it is another part of this great addiction.

I've heard lots of bad things about Wolf ammo. Besides being corrosive while the box says non-corrosive(Black Box 7.62x54R), what other problems are there with Wolf?
